This database is created by Beth Zak-Cohen at the Charles F. Cummings New Jersey Information Center at Newark Public Library. It consists of women who lived, work, went to school or were otherwise connected to Newark (as of now born 1959 or before). The goal is to chronicle women who may be lesser known historically and create a database of Newark women, not with full biographies, but to inspire further research.
